Holiday Hangover Prevention – 5 Tips To Keep YOU Enjoying Peak Performance!

Holiday Hangover Prevention on a Technology Blog???  Whazzz up with that??? Well, when you think about it, the Human Body is nothing more than a Bio-Electric-Mechanism that supports the most complex computer on the planet!

YOUR  BRAIN!

Keeping YOUR Holiday Season Safe

Writing about Holiday Hangover Prevention is really a selfish move. Keeping my readers safe over the Holiday Season just makes good sense to me!

Over the past 53 years of bumping around this great planet I have done my share of ‘partying’ and have learned some helpful tips! First the tips, then the *WHY* behind the tips…

The Best Hangover Prevention Tips I Have To Offer

  1. Know Your Intent
  2. Pre-Load Your System With Water
  3. Do Not Party On An Empty Stomach
  4. Take Advantage Of Breathalyzers
  5. If You Aren’t SURE, Do Not Drive
  6. Bonus Tip – Use This To Reduce Social Pressure

Know Your Intent – What type of party are you attending? Are you just heading out to get blasted??? Decide in advance and plan accordingly. Have some cash if you anticipate a Taxi ride home. Remember – DUI violations WILL show up with many Employers running background checks these days.

Pre-Load Your System With Water – YOUR Bio-Electric-Mechanism requires 2/3rds of your body weight to be H2O. Drinking liquor, sugar filled drinks, or beer will dehydrate you as well as alter the concentration of water in your system. Pre-loading 24 hours before the grand event will assure you have plenty of water in your system.

Do Not Party On An Empty Stomach – Let’s face it, when you start the party on an empty stomach you can count on reduced ‘endurance’. You will ‘Trash Out’ much faster. Then you may end up being the “Uninvited Guest” next year, or be passed out in the corner for the Shaving Creme entertainment tricks of the other party guests…  :)   Don’t become the latest Facebook / YouTube viral video – This is another place Employers are hanging out these days, and you don’t want your antics ”out there” if you know what I mean…. (LOL)

Take Advantage Of Breathalyzers – Why Not? If there is a question in your mind that you are safe to drive, do the right thing – test yourself, or catch a ride with a Designated Driver or a Taxi. DUI’s and the associated costs are HUGE! The most important thing – DO NOT become tomorrow’s Headline News by causing or being involved in a tragedy!!!

If You Aren’t SURE Do Not Drive – Nothing says Epic Hangover like waking up in the drunk tank or hospital. Usually, being arrested for DUI or other ‘I was drunk’ events will really kick the goodness out of your holiday season – and possibly affect your life for DECADES! Do The Wise Thing This Year – Don’t drink and drive…

Period.

Bonus Tip – Use This To Reduce Social Pressure – It took a while to figure this one out… While out with some heavy drinkers I came up with this tip:

  • Drink a bottled beverage
  • When the ‘Call of Nature’ happens, take the bottle with you.
  • If needed, finish off the beverage, and refill with WATER
  • You will be seen as having a drink in your hand and will not be subject to peer pressure to ‘Have A Drink Already’…  Know what I mean?

Wrapping It All Up With A Bow

These Tips will keep you from overdosing on alcohol and sugar! Playing catchup after throwing your hydration off that far will take a day for sure!

Keep in mind – Sugar will also give you a hangover! Large amounts of alcohol and sugar force the body to use it’s water to dilute the heavy concentration of these products. This takes the water away from your bodies cells which causes the hangover condition.

Hope these simple tips will help to keep you safe and enjoying a Wonderful Holiday Season this year!

Till we talk again, Be Safe Out There!

AND - Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah !
